CHarlotte williams Ceremonies
FAQs
Where are you based and will you travel?

I live in Shoreham-by-Sea which is a little village a few miles outside Brighton. I'm happy to travel to anywhere and charge 0.50p per mile travelled. If you live over 3.5 hours away, I would need an over-night stay, but all of this would be discussed prior.
How much are your ceremonies?

I charge £900 for each ceremony. I ask for 40% deposit and the remaining 60% up to one week before the event. Once you have received the first ceremony script the deposit is non-refundable
Are you insured?

All Humanist Celebrants have full Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance through the organisation.
Are Humanist Weddings Legal?

Currently Humanist weddings are not legal in England, but Humanists UK are currently trying to change that! In addition, not being legal can actually be a blessing in disguise - whilst you can do all the legal rigmarole for as little as £50 (whenever you want!), with a Humanist wedding you can get married where you want, in whatever way you want!
Do you allow Religious material in your Ceremonies?

Essentially, Humanism UK is a secular organisation and our ceremonies are designed to be a non-religious alternative to a standardly religious ceremony. In light of that, I couldn't honestly include religious literature or worship in my ceremonies but would be more than happy to include ritual or ceremonial symbols for cultural reasons (for example hand-tying or glass smashing) .
